Router-ul❤️ este un dispozitiv proiectat sa primeasca, sa analizeze si sa directioneze pachete de date catre alte retele. Spre deosebire de un ❤️switch, care are rol doar de a transmite date intre calculatoare sau alte echipamente din retea, router-ul analizeaza datele transmise dintr-o retea, le converteste si le trimite catre o alta retea. De regula, router-ul este folosit adesea intr-o retea sigura, locala, pentru a distribui o singura conexiune la internet catre mai multe calculatoare.
